Dear Fellow Patriots & Countrymen,
I pray this letter finds everyone well after yesterday’s monsoon, a.k.a. TS Ida. I personally saw and traversed rivers where there were no rivers before. But I digress…As we enter into this season of harvest, I have a cornucopia of subjects to address. If I do it here, this would be a book rather than a newsletter. I’ll try to whittle it down into some sensible order of importance.
First and foremost, I am saddened and pissed off at the debacle of our withdrawal from Afghanistan and the needless loss of life of 13 of our bravest, needlessly placed in harm’s way. I ask you to raise these 13 and their families in prayer.
Short Notice Action Item
This Saturday, September 4th I am asking you to join me at the park & ride at Christopher’s Crossing next to Route 15 at 10am with American flags and banners. Ideally, the plan is to occupy as many overpasses as we can leading into Frederick. The plan is to have 13 American Flags on as many overpasses as possible. If we have a turnout of 13, that’s one overpass. If we get 130 that’s 10. You get the idea. Please delay your plans for an hour or 2 on Saturday and let’s show our veterans and active duty that we stand with them even if this hapless administration does not!
Our September Meeting
This month we are pleased that Delegate and Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Cox will be our featured speaker. We are gathering at the Lewistown Fire Hall 1101 Hessong Bridge Rd, Thurmont MD 21788.The fire hall has a capacity of 450, if we got half of that I would be ecstatic. Catering will be by a.k.a. Frisco’s. We will need a hard head count by 6pm on Sunday. Bring your friends, neighbors and coworkers, Dan’s message of Freedom & Liberty needs to be heard by all. Please, see the details and RSVP here. See you on Wednesday!
A Message From Our Board of Education Slate; Education Not Indoctrination
On August 26, 2021 the Maryland State Board of Education (MSDE) went around local jurisdictions in Maryland and voted to implement a statewide mask mandate for the 2021-22 school year. Because Governor Hogan refused to issue such a mandate, Boards of Education and Superintendents ask the State Board of Education to step in and ignore the decisions local jurisdictions made. Maryland law is written so that each County (and Baltimore City) has the right to create their own school policies. This would include making face masks a personal and parental choice. (The message continues here) And while you are at it go ahead and make a donation, they need all the support they can get.
Sugarloaf Mountain Cutout
There is a move afoot by CE Queen Jan and Natelli Developers to develop 400+ acres along the west side of Thurston Rd in Urbana. This project has all the indications of being ‘fast-tracked’ through the County Council and Planning Commission. Thurston Rd is not capable of handling all the excess traffic, and most likely would require another school or 2 down there. Make your voices heard! This is all my brain can handle today.
“I understand, I sense that you’re tired. But you have not yet really suffered the terrible trials of the 20th century which have rained down on the old continent… You’re tired, but the Communists who want to destroy your system are not: they’re not tired at all.”
~ Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
God Bless you all and we’ll see you Saturday & Wednesday!!
