Mark your calendars and set your watches for Monday, March 9 from 6-9:00 p.m. at the Red Horse Steak House, 996 W Patrick Street, Frederick, MD 21703.
Former Commissioner Kirby Delauter faces current Councilman Kai Hagen to debate the pros and cons of Commissioner vs. Charter forms of government.
The Frederick County Conservative Club is hosting this event. Details can be found on their event page by clicking here. The FCCC is helping with a movement to repeal Charter government by getting signatures for a petition to have a removal initiative placed on the ballot this November.
Earlier this year we wrote about what former Commissioners and current Councilman thought about this effort here.
In order to educate and engage the public the FCCC has arranged for a debate and discussion between not only former County Commissioners, but also former Carroll County Commissioner Richard Rothschild who was against and helped defeat charter government in Carroll County. Also on the dais will be Montgomery County advocate Robin Ficker, Esquire.
Dinner, drinks and raffles will be offered during the evening.
