Louie Gohmert is a Republican politician from Texas, United States. He was born on August 18, 1953, in Pittsburg, Texas, and grew up in the small town of Mount Pleasant. Gohmert attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a degree in history before attending Baylor University to earn his law degree. He worked as a private attorney and served as a judge in Texas’ 7th Judicial District Court before being elected to Congress in 2004. Gohmert is known for his conservative views and has been an outspoken critic of immigration policies, gun control, and same-sex marriage. He has also been a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump.
