Letter from the FCCC President

News Worthy

First things first. Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, Fathers, Steps and single moms playing multiple roles. How about some Father’s Day history thanks to our friends at Mission of Mercy…

The first national event to celebrate Father’s Day was held on July 5, 1908, in a West Virginia Church. During that service 362 men who had died in the previous December’s explosions at the Fairmont Coal Company mines in Monongah, were remembered.

The following year, a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd, from Spokane Washington, and one of six children raised by a widower, attempted to establish a day for men that would equate to Mother’s Day. After petitioning local churches, the YMCA, local shopkeepers and government officials, Washington State celebrated the nations’ first statewide Father’s Day on June 19, 1910.

In 1924, President Calvin Coolidge urged state governments to observe Father’s Day.

In 1972, Richard Nixon signed a proclamation making Father’s Day a federal holiday. Today, fathers are honored in the United States on the third Sunday of June.

In other countries, especially in Latin
America and in Europe, fathers are honored on St. Joseph’s Day, which falls on March 19th.

I have to say that I have never been prouder of our group of Patriots than at our last meeting. Our guest speaker, the incomparable Cindy Rose gave us the low down on the Board of Education, their tactics and antics of indoctrinating our children. Before Cindy could finish, someone from the crowd called out “Are you going to run again?” Cindy responded, “If I can get 3 more people to run with me, I will do it!”-Before the evening was over, we had 3 people willing to commit to running for the BoE. As of this writing, Mrs Rose now has 9 other people willing to commit! (All of whom are FCCC members!) Now that the slate for the BoE has been filled we still need candidates for the County Council races in Districts 1,2,3 & ‘at-large’ (countywide).

Legislative District 3A needs 2 Delegate and 1 Senate challenger for the Dims that currently occupy the seats. Legislative District 4 is in need of a Senate candidate and a few Delegates as one may be retiring and one wants to run for County Executive.

The filing deadline for Frederick City Elections is 6 July 2021, we still need viable candidates for Mayor and 5 aldermen/women. Unless we can fill a few of those seats you will continue to see lawlessness continue to run amok and our quaint little city of Frederick will be controlled by ANTIFA and BLM types!

Last but certainly not least, is the Republican Central Committee. There are 9 seats available, I personally am considering a run. But, like Cindy Rose, I won’t do it without a full slate. The cabal, my bad, the Committee has been under the rule of one political family for far too long. In the 2020 election cycle they were sitting on over $14,000 and could not be bothered about opening up a campaign office even when property owners were giving away storefront space due to the Wuhan Red Death. I personally had to run to Hagerstown to get campaign signs here for Frederick.
Our next meeting is scheduled for 14 July 2021 at Mt Tabor Park in Rocky Ridge (site of the big wooden slide). Our Featured Speaker comes from The John Birch Society. Michael Smart has been with JBS since 1995 and will be addressing Cultural Marxism. If you enjoyed Mike Gonzalez from Heritage Foundation at our May meeting in Baker Park and Cindy Rose at our last meeting, Mr. Smart will wrap Critical Race Theory, the dumbing down of our education/indoctrination system and Marxism that has been creeping into our society for de cades into one neat but shocking package!

The Details; Mt Tabor Park, map here. July 14, 6-8:30pm. As requested, we are bringing in a couple of food trucks, and trying to get an ice cream truck there. Please check our website www.FCCC.us after Sunday to make your RSVP’s. We do need an accurate headcount, please. One final item. We have a booth space at the Walkersville Carnival July 5-10. We need people to help man the tent Monday thru Saturday 5pm-10pm. Sign-up here to volunteer. Between the tent for the carnival and the merchandise we purchased, our bank account has taken a drastic hit.

“My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, ‘You’re tearing up the grass’; ‘We’re not raising grass,’ Dad would reply. ‘We’re raising boys.'” ~ Harmon Killebrew
